What is your role at SJW? 

作为一支舰队 & Facilities Worker II, my main responsibilities include supporting workplace services and capital projects. I thoroughly enjoy supporting capital projects because it provides me with an opportunity to express my creativity and interact with many different work groups and individuals. In addition to my main duties, I perform certain Fleet duties for the company.

SJW’s approach to pipeline replacement is driven by a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of water service reliability and safety for our community. Led by the Asset Management team, SJW leverages a cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) model to enhance our decision-making process—ranking each pipe segment in our system for replacement based on its unique probability of failure (PoF).

过去的一个月, SJW’s Assistant Engineer, 伊桑•史密斯, had the opportunity to present at the ASCE Inspire 2023 Conference on pump optimization being implemented at SJW with the AVEVA PI System. Over the last two years, SJW has built out an effective solution to reduce energy costs, increase efficiency, and provide operators with real-time pump and motor performance monitoring.

Meet Wanda Folk, Senior Water Services Representative in the Water Services Engineering Department. This department is the first point of contact for developers & homeowners who need new water service connections for their projects.

I’m 比尔•塔特尔, the Vice President of Engineering at San Jose Water. Our engineers oversee complex, professional civil and mechanical work related to the design, construction and project management of SJW water facilities such as new and replacement wells, chemical and potable water storage tanks, pressure regulating stations, booster 泵站, water treatment and disinfection facilities, 和管道.

I’m Brandon Stieber, Engineering Unit Manager for the SJW Special Facilities Department, a division of the Engineering Department. 在这个角色中, I manage and perform civil engineering design for in-station facility work for SJW’s Capital Improvement Program. This includes projects for water storage tanks, 泵站, groundwater production wells, 控制阀, 庭院管道, above-grade and subsurface appurtenances, 结构, 分级, 排水, 和铺平道路. I am a licensed civil engineer in the state of California and have over 17 years of experience.

I’m Jared Lewis, Manager of 环境al Planning and Natural Resources at San Jose Water. 在这个角色中, I direct environmental management, 管理, wildfire resiliency, and water resource programs and policy. I also manage watershed and asset planning, resource protection, 风险缓解, and oversee long-range planning initiatives for land use, 保护, and ecosystem restoration.
